I posted here about it once or twice. Since then I’ve been to see a podiatrist. She had me wear these cushions under the ball of my foot for two weeks. I only did it for one because it was actually worse with it than without it.
Also, she had me take motrin 3x a day. I did that for a week, then stopped. It upset my stomach. But I think it relived the inflammation considerably, but my foot is definitely better even without the motrin.
And the most important thing she had me do was to ice my foot 4x per day with a frozen water bottle. That did wonders.
One night after the gym (she told me to start exercising again) I iced my foot and because the swelling went down, I could feel a bump under the bone. It seems that I bruised the bone on the bottom of my foot. And as long as I run nice and easy, it doesn’t hurt any more than walking. Which means that I am running as fast as some people walk. 15 min/mile. I can go faster–I think–but if I did, I’d probably re-injure my foot again.
But at least I get to exercise. And yesterday, I felt no pain at all.
