I weighed 155# when I got married, and I wore a size 9. I weight 158 today–18 # more than my new normal weight as of 10 years ago–and I wear a size 12. This is of course 4 children later. Also, my latest health concern is my foot. It hurts like crazy, whether I run or not. I’ve got up to running really really slowly for 4 miles straight. It takes me 1 hour. I can go faster, but immediately electrical shots shoot up my foot.
Well, God is so good. I started off the new year with prayer and a commitment to try again to be sugar free for the next 40 days, kind of a fast. Well, later this morning, I’m watching this woman on TV, Valerie Saxon, ND and mother of 8, discussing the benefits of liquid collagen. She mentions the benefits of the tightening of joints, repairing tissue, weight loss, and good sleep. Now this is not the first time I’ve heard of liquid collagen. I read up on it years and years ago, but at that time, I didn’t have the problems I am having now.
So, I am off to the store to buy me some liquid collagen and vitamin C. It seems that according to this study, GLA (evening primrose oil) and liquid collagen help with injury reparations–specifically joint issues and inflammation. The problem with my foot is the inflammation which causes the nerve to bulge through the bones. I’ve tried Ibuprofen until I’ve been sick to my stomach, and the next alternative is a steroid shot. Well, from what I know of steroid shots they cause bone loss. I have searched for side effects to the collagen–a natural substance of the body–and I can’t find any.
So, we’ll see if this helps. Happy New Year to all of you and Good Luck to my right foot.
